Sprint Corporation (NYSE:S) New CEO Announced Cost Cutting And Aggressive Competition On First Day Of Job

Boston, MA 08/12/2014 (wallstreetpr) – The Chief Executive Officer of Sprint Corporation (NYSE:S), Marcelo Claure, on his first day at the company’s designation, announced that the employees should expect a lot more cost cutting along with robust and vigorous competitive edge.

Company’s Internal Memo Announcement

In the internal memo, as obtained by Bloomberg, the CEO wrote that the success of Sprint Corporation (NYSE:S) was dependent on becoming highly cost efficient as well as aggressively competitive in the market. He further wrote that the management of company was working together in association in the direction of new and future strategy.

Likely Future Strategy of Sprint

As explained by Edward Jones analyst, David Heger, plan of future strategy and aggressive competitiveness includes reduced network infrastructure costs, lowered expenses for customer-related services by promoting use of Internet for subscription, as well as job slashing. By the end of March 2014, the company had approximately 36000 employees.

In the meanwhile, Mr. Heger, also said that though it was doubtful as to how the cost cutting would take place significantly without considering labour costs as well as current comprehensive headcount, but it would be worth seeing how Sprint goes ahead in it.

The Company-Wide Meeting

In the memo, the CEO also wrote that a company-wide meeting of employees with top executives on the same shall take place on August 14, 2014. He, however, indicated that at present, the focus of Sprint would be towards reposition and growth.

It must be noted that at present, all eyeballs are glued towards Claure, the new CEO to help Sprint Corporation (NYSE:S) revive and return in alignment with the U.S. carrier growth. In the annual meeting, which took place last week, Claure had said that he looked at the costs of Sprint extensively and that the network needed to be improved considerably. He became a part of Sprint’s Board in January 2014 only.
