The new product range of SanDisk Ultra and SanDisk Extreme intend to offer faster speed and increased storage capacity. The products are specially targeted to the most discerning users who require very high speed data transfer capacities. The company is the forerunner in the flash memory market in the country and has recently completed its 25 successful years.
The SanDisk Ultra USB Drive
The SanDisk Corporation (NASDAQ:SNDK) Ultra USB Drive has been launched in 16GB to 64GB capacities of storage space and is priced in the range of Rs. 1,199 and Rs. 3,800.The device is essentially a USB flash drive supporting a Micro-USB on one end as well as a standard 2.0 port USB on the other. The drive is aimed at handy data transfer between Android smartphones and PC and enables storing data like photos and videos directly from their device to the space available on the SanDisk Ultra Dual USB Drive. The company’s Country Manager India, Rajesh Gupta said that the USB Drive endeavors to provide a easy to use and convenient mean to offload and backup files from smartphones and tablets.
To enable data transfer between the Drive and one’s smartphone, an application called SanDisk Memory Zone app needs to be downloaded from Google Play store. This app lets the users view and also organize files stored on the internal and external storages. Although the drive does not need any additional connection for data transfer, it needs to exploit the phone’s on-the-go (OTG) feature to support USBs.
SanDisk Extreme PRO USB 3.0 Drive
SanDisk Corporation (NASDAQ:SNDK) Extreme PRO USB 3.0 Drive is available in the market in a 128GB capacity and is very much like the more traditional USB drives. However, the company claims that it delivers some of the fastest read and write speeds of up to 260MB per sec and 240MB per sec respectively. With such high speeds, it is almost 60 times faster than a standard USB 2.0 drive currently available in the Indian markets. Additionally, the drive incorporates a SecureAccess software which allows for a 128 bit AES encryption and password security.
