Boston, MA 10/13/2014 (wallstreetpr) – salesforce.com, inc. (NYSE:CRM) is preparing to unveil its new analytic service, Wave, which is already available on its AppExchange. The new graphical tool will be of benefit when one wants to view business analytics on mobile devices, as well as PC screens in an attractive and visual display.
Concerns over Competition
The app will be launched at an event in San Francisco with the company reiterating that it had to develop the product even though the landscape is entirely crowded with similar products. Just like other salesforce.com, inc. (NYSE:CRM)’s products, the new service dubbed Wave will be rolled out slowly over time. Despite the company claiming the service to be user-friendly, it is expected to face stiff competition from other well-established products in the space.
The analytics space is seen as a $10 billion market with analysts maintaining there is room for salesforce.com, inc. (NYSE:CRM) to tap-into. Users will be allowed to slice and dice any data to different views that they prefer while also being allowed to create a variety of connections between data. Wave uses a standard database language thus won’t be a problem to the many people who are not IT gurus. Users will still need some basic understanding training or knowledge to be in a position to use it effectively.
Salesforce Pushing for Market Share
salesforce.com, inc. (NYSE:CRM) utilized the services of game designers in the development of Wave with a view of creating consumer-like experience that is exciting. Since it is still in its inception stage, the service will require some refinement over time. Third parties have also been embedded in the service and expected to provide customers with much-needed help when connecting to external data sources.
salesforce.com, inc. (NYSE:CRM) is pushing for share in the BI market although it is expected to be a tough ride with the immense competition in the space.
