As the frantic buyers started receiving their first Apple Watches, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s App Store has already readied more than 3,000 apps.
A number of innovative apps for the Apple Watch were available last month itself on the App Store. According Tom Cook CEO Apple, around 1,000 apps were expected in the App store for the upcoming model. To help its customers download more curate apps, the company has established a dedicated slot for watch apps that now exceeded 3,000 apps.
According to appFigures, an app store analytics firm, the number of apps will reach 100,000 by next year.
Some of the curate app collections compatible for the watch at the App Store include creativity, health and fitness, work and communications, travel and family. Other notable apps include what’s nearby, quick-fix games, get the store, get started, savvy shopping and learning on the go.
You can also find compatible apps of Yahoo weather, the New York Times, Instagram, Flipboard, Expedia, Twitter, Runkeeper and Evernote at the app store.
Facebook is yet to unveil its app for the Apple Watch. Notably, Google app is missing from the list.
How to install an App on Apple Watch?
The App store returns a web link to the latest apps for a user query that launches the Apple Watch app. iPhone users can quickly download new apps from Watch app store.
The App icons feature a round shape. When you just tap on one, you can visualize how it looks like on a watch in a small rectangle and the large display of an iPhone.
Most of the apps are already installed on an iPhone in a different form. If a user has already installed an app for example Twitter on an iPhone, it is not necessary to install the same app again on the newly bought Apple Watch.
After the preorder booking fortnight ago, the new Watch will be available for direct purchase on Friday in a number of countries worldwide.
The base model with aluminum frame is priced at $349. The price for the 18 karat gold luxury edition of the watch is likely to go up to $17,000.
