Rio Tinto plc (ADR)(NYSE:RIO) Announces New Management Faces`

Boston, MA 06/02/2014 (wallstreetpr) – The leading metal manufacturer and provider Rio Tinto plc (ADR)(NYSE:RIO) has gone through so many changes and reformation in past few months. Despite fluctuating market performance, RIO managed to provide an excellent return to all the shareholders. Few notable changes took place in Rio during last quarter and previous months, here are few of them.

 Changes in Management:

Rio Tinto plc (ADR)(NYSE:RIO) announced few changes in its management. The first change came in the form of Michael L’Estrange AO. He is one of the new non executive directors. Michael previously worked with many organizations at higher level. His main focus has always been diplomacy and international relations. He started his career with a senior level position in department of prime minister and cabinet in Australia and after than assisted many other departments. He currently works in Australian National University in Canberra as Head of College of National Security. He also works as the director of the well known Australian University of Notre Dame.

 The second change in the management has been made in form of appointment of Alfredo Barrios as the new Chief Executive Officer of entire Aluminum business. He has replaced Jacynthe Cote as the CEO of Rio Tinto plc (ADR)(NYSE:RIO). According to the reports made public by the company, Jacynthe Cote has decided to leave company to pursue other interests of him. He recently joined company on 1st of June, 2014. Please note that the board of RIO has decided to keep Jacynthe Cote in an advisory role till coming September to run all the operations in a smooth way.

In his most recent role, Alfredo worked with one of the biggest joint venture firms of Russian oil industry named TNK-BP as executive director and executive vice president. He has worked in different roles and positions over these years. In the last Rio Tinto plc (ADR)(NYSE:RIO), he was responsible for marketing, refining, supply, trading, and logistics businesses.
