QTS Dallas-Fort Worth – A hybrid data center facility
The data center markets continue to grow with increasing demand over large infrastructure to support the cloud solutions. So, to address the growing demand in the semiconductor industry, QTS Realty Trust Inc (NYSE:QTS) developed a mega manufacturing facility for data centers. The new facility will provide the QTS’ 3Cs solutions such as custom data centers (C1), colocation (C2) and cloud solutions (C3).
The campus spreads over 40 acres having an LEED-designed facility of 700,000 square feet and eight column-free data halls and each hall spreads over 25,000 – 30,000 square feet. The phase I includes 26,000 square feet of raised floor, and Phase II will further include additional space of 26,000 square feet.
The campus powered by its owned dual-fed substation (140MW) to provide uninterrupted power to the facility. The central building designed with both air and water coolers to enhance the energy efficiency across the facility. Moreover, the facility connected to fiber network to provide carrier-neutral connectivity and also maximum flexibility to the integrated data centers. Multiple carriers such as FPL FiberNet, UPN, TW Telecom and Zayo offer the connectivity to the data centers.
