Qiwi PLC (NASDAQ:QIWI) Kiosks To Be Placed In JSC Tander’s Magnit Retail Chain

Boston, MA 10/03/2014 (wallstreetpr) – Qiwi PLC (NASSDAQ:QIWI) disclosed that it has struck a partnership deal with JSC Tander, a subsidiary of OJSC Magnit. As a result, QIWI kiosks would be placed in about 1,700 convenience store locations of Magnit.

According to a statement issued by the company, customers of Magnit would be able to make their compulsory and regular payments through their kiosks even as they shop in convenient stores. This meant that customers could save time by avoiding visiting merchant offices to make payment or repay loans. These apart, tax and utility payments, internet and mobile top ups besides several other types of payments can also be made from the kiosks.

Qiwi PLC (NASDAQ:QIWI) said that its main objective was to provide everyone with suitable but high-quality payment services nearer to one’s work or home place. By using QIWI kiosks for a variety of services and goods and paying remotely, the company expects customers to conserve their time. As a result, customers would be able to focus their attention towards their business and engage in leisure activities.

Magnit’s Head for Commercial Real Estate department, Anton Kakovkin, said that the partnership with the biggest instant payment service provider in Russia resolved several problems simultaneously. The partnership allows it to provide its clients with a suitable payment service of unified, as well as, high-quality standards apart from a wide range of options.

There are approximately 75,000 merchants, who were accepting payments made through Qiwi PLC (NASDAQ:QIWI). The biggest advantage was that through a single contract, every store allowed the company to minimize the risk factors and ensure continuous performance of the machines, which save its employees time. Moreover, Russian people were also quite familiar with QIWI. He hoped that the Russians would be pleasantly surprised with the payment service with which they were more accustomed.
