Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) announced its plans to introduce the Prime Now service in Manhattan where it will deliver products.
This is good news for those living within Manhattan as they can now use the application to purchase products. This will make it so much easier for most individuals especially considering the hustle and bustle of city life. They can now order basic purchases like groceries or fast food using Amazon’s convenient service. Amazon will then facilitate the delivery process for Primetime Now orders.
The brick and motor business will reap massive benefits from the technology and infrastructure that Amazon has been laying down especially the delivery system and the logistics. Amazon’s senior operations vice president, Dave Clark released a statement saying that Prime time has established itself as a timely delivery system that has won the hearts of many.
The rapidly expanding delivery service has already created a situation where Amazon may be considering rubbing shoulders with other firms such as Uber. This is because the company might be considering using Uber’s drivers as part of the home delivery structure. Prime Now already delivers thousands of products, and the growing demand is part of the reasons why there is a need for a more elaborate delivery system.
The company aims to achieve deliveries within two or fewer hours. In a city of such a magnitude, it is increasingly difficult to achieve such goals. Additionally factors like congestion and traffic might come into play. High demand for the services good, but it means it is even more difficult to make satisfactory deliveries to all the clients.
In any case, this should not be a big problem for the company since it has mastered the art of problem-solving. Prime Now has already been launched in Austin, Brooklyn, Atlanta, Baltimore, Miami and Dallas.
Amazon.Com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) is currently making preparations to include third party deliveries to all the above cities. It is also working on expanding the service to other regions.
