Pfizer Inc. (NYSE:PFE) Designated James C. Smith Into The Board Of Directors

Pfizer Inc. (NYSE:PFE) on June 26, 2014 announced that the company elected James C. Smith to the Board of Directors. His appointment came into effect immediately. Apart from being elected into the Board, Smith has also been appointed into Corporate Governance and Science and Technology Committees of the company’s Board.

 James C. Smith’s Corporate Profile

James C. Smith is the President and CEO of Thomson Reuters. He also serves in the Board of Directors of the company.

Before his appointment as the CEO in Thomson Reuters in the year 2012, he served at different leadership positions there, which included CEO as well as the Chief Operating Officer of the Professional Division of Thomson Reuters.

Before Reuters PLC was acquired by Thomson, James C. Smith served as the COO of Thomson and President and CEO of Thomson Learning’s Academic and Reference Group as well.

He is also the member of International Business Council of the World Economic Forum.

He holds a position in the Board of Brazil-U.S. Business Council and also serves in the Atlantic Council and International Advisory Boards of British American Business.

26-cent third-quarter 2014 dividend also declared by the Board of Pfizer

In the meanwhile, Pfizer Inc. (NYSE:PFE)’s Board of Directors, in yet another activity, declared 26-cent Q3 2014 dividend on common stock of the company. This will be paid on September 3, 2014 to the shareholders who are in the record as on August 1, 2014.
