New DOCSIS 3.1 cable industry standards have made the road for those multi-service operators very difficult which seek to offer customer premises equipments. With the help of dual-band architecture, these multi-service operators can bring high-level flexibility in their services to fulfill customers’ demands, as well as DOCSIS 3.1 cable industry standard. Apart from this, all the multi-level operators also get benefitted through the help of DOCSIS 3.0 and 3.1. It not only enables them to perform better, but also offer easy and cost effective transition process to DOCSIS 3.1.
Most of the customer premises equipments like cable modems, set-top boxes and home-gateways were capable of supporting either upstream or downstream bands at a time. Before the launch of PE42722, no other switch was able to offer services that could meet the minimum linearity requirements for supporting a dual-band architecture. Currently when customers opt for high-speed service plans, they have to manually change the CPE device in order to get the necessary in place for supporting high-stream and down-stream band requirements. With the launch of new PE42722 high-linearity switch, the need for changing bands has been eliminated. Now, both the bands can reside in the same customer premises equipment device. As soon as PE42722 switch is installed in CPE devices, there will not be any need of exchanging hardware.
