Boston, MA 09/17/2014 (wallstreetpr) – Enterprise software provider, Oracle Corporation (NYSE:ORCL) has claimed that its public sector revenue management solution to Ohio Government’s taxation department has enabled them to improve its tax collection process. The department had to change its system of proprietary tax administration with an integrated solution to boost efficiencies so as to adapt itself quickly to changing policies of tax and cut down cost, as well as, complexity.
Improves Efficiency
The Oracle Corporation (NYSE:ORCL) disclosed that the taxation department has implemented its software to deliver a consolidated view of taxpayer sources of revenue thus allowing it to improve its collections and also its service to the taxpayer, its statement said. The software solution also allows the department to cut down its administrative expenses while narrowing its gap of revenue through a secure, modern enterprise technology architecture and application.
Oracle Corporation (NYSE:ORCL) said that Ohio’s tax department has deployed its software for its sales tax, use tax, natural gas, employer withholding, school district withholding tax types, and replacement tire. This included converting over 30 million obligations, adjustments, forms, and financial transactions involving over 1.3 million accounts. Its implementation would allow them to withdraw its mainframe integrated tax administration system or ITAS application inheritance and move towards a modern technology providing a user-friendly interface, increased efficiency and functionality without COBOL.
The company also claimed that its software has enabled the taxation department of Ohio Government to consolidate over 23 legacy tax types across different systems into single centralized tax management system of all major business functions such as forms, registrations, accounting, collections, payments, and case management. As a result, the department could witness improved operations and boost revenue from collection process efficiency.

Oracle Corporation (NYSE:ORCL)’s Senior Vice President for Public Sector, Mark Johnson, said that its solution was a flexible, as well as, powerful driving the department to improve its constituent services besides simplifying its complex policy issue management. He said that it would also meet the demand for higher efficiency and effectiveness.
The company has also quoted Ohio Taxation Department official, Mark Walker, as saying that Oracle software has allowed them to integrated with third party systems easily for improved inter and intra-government collaboration.
