Road So Far:

The past few months have not been that great for the company as it didn’t only wind up operations from one of the leading markets i.e. India, but also faced criticism over Alcatel-Lucent acquisition deal. Uber has a lot bigger ambitions than just being a transportation provider globally. The company wants to establish itself as a logistic company with an objective to deliver goods and people within a city in the least possible time. For this, Uber has to rely heavily on Google Maps, which doesn’t seem to be a convenient option for the company in the long run. It has placed a bid to purchase Nokia Mapping services for as much as $3 billion. Other companies interested in buying Nokia’s mapping service comprise of internet giant Google.

The final result of this bidding will be announced in a few days time by Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK) after analyzing all the bids.
