News Update: Textron Inc. (NYSE:TXT), Vitesse Semiconductor Corporation (NASDAQ:VTSS), Brocade Communications Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:BRCD)

Boston, MA 10/14/2014 (wallstreetpr) – Textron Inc. (NYSE:TXT) announced on the sidelines of AUSA 2014 Annual Meeting & Exposition which kick-started yesterday that it has landed a “firm-fixed-price, foreign military sales contract” from the U.S. Army Contracting Command. The contract involves supplying 10 units of COMMANDO(TM) Select models of armoured vehicles. The contract also features the retrofitting of the armoured vehicles with “fielding hardware” and providing the end customer with requisite technical services. The contract would be executed by Textron Systems Marine & Land Systems, which is a unit of Textron Inc. (NYSE:TXT). The end user of the armoured vehicles is the Bulgarian National Military Force. The vehicles will be deployed for service in Afghanistan, where the Bulgarian force will operate under the flag of International Security Assistance Force.

Advanced IC solutions provider Vitesse Semiconductor Corporation (NASDAQ:VTSS) announced recently that it has tied up with Phoenics Electronics. Phoenics Electronics is described by the firm as a leading distributor in the semiconductor industry. It has been tasked with generating and managing demand for Vitesse Semiconductor Corporation (NASDAQ:VTSS) “Carrier, Enterprise and Internet of Things (IoT) network” solutions. Phoenics Electronics will also provide fulfilment services to the existing and new customers of Vitesse Semiconductor Corporation (NASDAQ:VTSS) in the U.S market.

Data centre network solutions provider Brocade Communications Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:BRCD) announced on 13th October that it is launching a “new extension platform” which allows enterprises to record relatively shorter “recovery points and faster recovery times” when they attempt to restore data and applications post the occurrence of a disaster. The new platform could also be leveraged when IT teams perform run of the mill, “backup and replication” tasks over intermittent Wide Area Network (WAN) links. In its press note, Brocade (NASDAQ:BRCD) has underscored that the new solution will make its customers run Non-Stop Business Operations by extending its patented Fabric Vision Technology.
