Boston, MA 10/01/2013 (wallstreetpr) – NetGear, Inc. (NASDAQ:NTGR) on September 30 announced that its Netgear 4G mobile hotspot rig is available across UK. This is possible because of its tie up with Telefónica UK. NETGEAR AirCard® 762S mobile hotspot would be supported by O2 4G network and will be offered as a add on to O2 Mobile WiFi (Pop Up Office) package. Netgear’s hotspot will be the first dedicated mobile compatible device which would be available in UK. The two companies believe that small business customers and work from home professionals will benefit most from this development.
NETGEAR AirCard 762S Mobile Hotspot USP is that it can support up to 10 simultaneous wi-fi connections thus enabling small businesses and travelling business teams to connect a multitude of devices like their laptops, tablets and smart phones into the internet. It is claimed that within a minute, various digital devices including digital cameras can connect “on-the-go” to the built-in wi-fi points of the hotspot and download data at speeds of up to 100 Mbps. It can operate up to six hours before needing a battery recharge.
In a related story in September 12, it was announced that Netgear was launching a new “Media Gateway’ code named HMG7000. This gateway would be operating on the NETGEAR’s own NeoMedia™ platform. The new gateway will allow for faster local caching of data leading to a far superior user experience when played through DVR options. It will also enable video to be relayed in a multi screen format and provide advanced encryption functionalities to manage user rights.
