Boston, MA 10/06/2014 (wallstreetpr) – Mylan Inc (NASDAQ:MYL) has expressed the confidence that it would be able to gain from better than expected operational performance during the third quarter. The company said that the recent launches and multiple product approvals were supporting its optimism.
Boosts Outlook For 3Q
Mylan Inc (NASDAQ:MYL) disclosed that the third quarter results would benefit by approximately 14 cents a share from its deal with Strides Arcolab Limited, its statement revealed. The company has recognized compensation for having lost revenues in 2014 due to supply disruptions resulting in the current quality-enhancement activities started in some of the Agila units before the acquisition of Agila from Strides in the previous year.
As a result of better than expected operational performance and gains from Arcolab, Mylan has lifted its adjusted earnings outlook. This meant Mylan Inc (NASDAQ:MYL) is looking to achieve $1.12 – $1.16 a share for the third quarter compared to 90 – 95 cents a share projected by it earlier. This represented a minimum increase of 22.11% and a maximum of 24.4% over the previous earnings guidance.
The revised earnings outlook is way ahead of the Wall Street analysts’ average earnings predictions of 98 cents a share for the same period. Mylan Inc (NASDAQ:MYL)’s revised lower end of adjusted earnings forecast indicated that it was 14.3% above the Street analysts’ projection.
Full Year View Boosted
Similarly, Mylan Inc (NASDAQ:MYL) has lifted its adjusted earnings guidance for the full year 2014 to $3.44 – $3.54 a share from $3.25 – $3.45 a share. It represented an increase of 2.61% – 5.85% over the earlier projections. The company cited stronger than expected operational performance in the third quarter and the expected fourth quarter financial results for boosting its outlook.
On average, Wall Street analysts predict the company to deliver adjusted earnings of $3.32 a share for the current calendar year. The company’s revised earnings forecast indicated that its lower end was 3.6% more than the analysts’ projection.
Mylan Inc (NASDAQ:MYL) indicated that it would release its financial results for the third quarter on October 30 after the market closed. It will also hold a conference call at 4.30 p.m. ET on the same day.
