The company is fighting tax crime allegations and its believes that the Delhi High Court issued “new conditions” for the transfer of the company’s assets in the country to Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT). Nokia is accused by India authorities for withholding tax related to the transaction of its assets sometimes back. Currently Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK) is transferring its devices and services assets to Microsoft in $7.3 billion deal. However, the India tax issue is dragging the assets transfer process. Shares of Nokia were down 1.43 percent to $7.58 in the last session.
Pfizer Inc.(NYSE:PFE) which fell 0.37 percent to $32.11 in the last session is keen on making is cholesterol blockbuster pill Lipitor available over the counter. The company hopes that it will be able to overcome skepticism about availing the cholesterol drug to users without doctor recommendation. The efforts to make Lipitor available to users without doctor guidance are receiving support from some pharmacists and doctors who say that over-the-counter Lipitor is just as useful. Pfizer Inc.(NYSE:PFE) has started clinical trial to justify its push to get Lipitor over-the-counter.
Ariad Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ:ARIA) looks soaked in bearish sentiments. More than 24 percent of the ARIA stock float is short interest and this suggest extreme level of negative view on the stock.
