Boston, MA 07/29/2014 (wallstreetpr) – Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has announced expansion of its Microsoft Software and Systems Academy (MSSA), a 16 weeks program that provides IT training to eligible members in the U.S military who are transitioning from military to civilian life. The expansion locations are at Camp Pendleton in California State and Fort Hood in Texas State. The program was first launched in Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington, from where already a good number of members have benefited from the program. The enrolled members are educated on IT through a common planned curriculum by professors from nearby universities. The program also includes support and participation by Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) employees who volunteer as mentors and assist using Skype or Lync. The MSSA program assists enrolled military staff to take leading positions in the industries giving a smooth transition to civilian life.
Smart and Low Cost Lumia
Microsoft Devices Group announced introduction of Lumia 530 enabled by the best Microsoft and Lumia Technologies that gives smartphone experience to customers within an estimated retail price of 85 Euros. The device is expected to be rolled into the market by early August 2014. Lumia 530 is available in both single SIM 3G and dual SIM 3G with similar Windows Phone services as available in the high end Lumia smartphones. The phone is equipped with latest version of Windows Phone 8.1 with powerful quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. The phone comes with integration of Microsoft services such as Skype and Microsoft office. The phone also supports popular social apps such as Viber, Instagram and Wechat.
Capturing the Small business India
Seeing the potential in Indian small business sector, the Microsoft and GoDaddy have partnered to provide Microsoft Office 365 a small business email and productivity service to the same. Small business can use this enterprise software to efficiently operate business by maintaining well established communication with employees and customers. Office 365 would be marketed by Godaddy at a starting price of INR 149 per month. The Office 365 can also be operated using mobile device. The software service is available in 3 plans to suite the variety prevalent in Indian small industry sector.
Wrath from China Government
The China Government launched official investigation of Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) in China and sent officials to the Microsoft branches in Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu and Guangzhou. Microsoft China has confirmed the same and said it will cooperate with the China government in providing all the information it can. This move from China comes with Microsoft’s efforts to shift from windows XP to Windows 8. Windows XP is currently widely used in China’s mainland and the shift to Windows 8 has created suspicions of the new operating system being used to acquire citizen data by cloud technology that stores data in undisclosed location of the software.
