LIN MEDIA LLC (NYSE:LIN) Appoints Jay Howell As Executive Vice-President Television

Boston, MA 10/01/2013 (wallstreetpr) – Last week, LIN MEDIA LLC (NYSE:LIN) announced that the executive vice-president television, Scott Blumenthal will be retiring by 2013 and Jay Howell will be taking his place.

Blumenthal began his broadcasting career in the year 1970. At that point of time, he worked in Terre Haute, at WTWO and in Indianapolis, at WRTV. Post that, he started an advertising agency, an animation studio and a commercial syndication of his own.

 Impressive backdrop

 In 1983, WISH hired him as a local sales manager. In 1994, he was named the President and GM of WOTV and WOOD. In 1999, he returned to WISH as the President and GM and went on to assuming the LIN MEDIA LLC (NYSE:LIN) vice-president post in 2002. Three years after that, he was promoted to the post of vice-president Television and the executive vice-president television in the year 2006. Blumenthal will step down on December 31, and Howell will take over with effect from January 1, 2014. Post his retirement, Blumenthal will continue providing the company with consulting services.

 Blumenthal said that he feels fortunate to have been part of this exciting business for more than 4 decades. Of these, he was with LIN MEDIA for 30 years. He said that he looks forward to working with the Executive team in the capacity of a consultant and that he looks forward to spending time with his family and playing golf.

 In Monday’s trading session, LIN MEDIA rose by 0.59%. The company’s shares opened at a price of $20.06, climbed to an intraday high of $20.39 and dropped to a close of $20.29. Approximately 0.443 million shares were traded on Monday while an average volume of 0.506 million shares were traded over 30 days. The 52-week low of the shares is $4.30 while the 52-week high is $20.55. The company has a market capitalization of $683.16 Million.
