Boston, MA 05/13/2014 (wallstreetpr) – JetBlue Airways Corporation (NASDAQ:JBLU) has published in a press release dated May 12, 2014 that the company is looking forward to launching a unilateral codeshare so as to provide more travel options to the customers from all across the world. The company is working on this in collaboration with the Turkish Airlines, which is a fast growing worldwide carrier.
Launching a unilateral codeshare
JetBlue Airways Corporation (NASDAQ:JBLU) have joined hands with the rapidly growing Turkish Airlines in order to expand the reach of its services all across the globe. The new codeshare, which would be known as the JetBlue-Turkish codeshare, would give an opportunity to the customers to buy tickets that would combine the flights of both the carriers. This unilateral codeshare would also allow the customers to enjoy one-stop baggage check-in and ticketing on their departure day.
The Turkish Airline has inaugurated the first non-stop flight service from Istanbul to Boston and vice versa. JetBlue offers more flights than any other airline at the Boston Logan International Airport.
The Turkish Airlines has many connections to offer to its customers to destinations like Africa, South Asia, Europe, Middle East and Far East. These airlines have to offer a very expansive route to its customers with a total of 247 destinations spread across 106 countries around the world. The international travelers through JetBlue would have access to the key destinations in the U.S. such as New York, Florida, North Carolina, Michigan, Pittsburg, Detroit, Pennsylvania, etc.
The Vice President of JetBlue, namely, Scot Laurence, said that JetBlue Airways Corporation (NASDAQ:JBLU) was simply exuberant with its collaboration with the Turkish Airlines especially when it is trying to expand its network in the U.S. in order to include the growing city of Boston, which is the focus of JetBlue. He also reported that more international carriers are coming to the city of Boston because of the expanding network of JetBlue in Boston, which according to him is great for the local economy.
