Boston, MA 05/21/2014 (wallstreetpr) – Devon Energy Corp (NYSE:DVN) last Friday announced the exit of its long-serving SVP Communications and Investor Relations, Vince White. The company said the executive will officially retire on August 8, 2014. He joined the company more than 20 years ago and helped see the company grow from a small business to a member of the Fortune 500. Devon enhanced its relationship with key shareholders, undertook acquisitions, divestiture and entered partnership and mergers at the watch of Mr. White as head of investor relations.
As Mr. White bows out of the exploration and production company, Devon announced Howard J. Thill to fill his position. Mr. Thill, a 32-year veteran in the energy industry, also has a successful track record in investor relations and communications.
Devon Energy Corp (NYSE:DVN) earned $1.14 per share in 1Q2014, falling short of the consensus estimate of $1.26. The company generated revenue of $3.73 billion, ahead of the consensus estimate of $2.87 billion. Both earnings and revenue were up on a year-over-year basis.
Nordstrom, Inc. (NYSE:JWN) on Tuesday, May 20, announced a swap of roles within its executive ranks. The company said the head of Nordstrom Direct, Jamie Nordstrom, moves to head the stores as president while former head of stores, Erik Nordstrom, moves to head Nordstrom Direct as president. The company further announced that the executive changes will play a key role in supporting the company’s objective of becoming one strong Nordstrom. The company continues to come up with strategies to grow revenue while keeping expenses under control.
The company recently reported quarter earnings during which it posted EPS of $0.72, against the consensus estimate of $0.68. Revenue in the quarter came in at $2.84 billion, below $2.86 billion that analysts estimated on the average. However, the company expects to continue posting positive results through 2014.
