International Game Technology (NYSE:IGT) Relooks Online Gaming

Boston, MA 10/29/2013 (wallstreetpr) – International Game Technology (NYSE:IGT) began its journey into the world of gaming with wide collection of slot machines and has been hugely successful with this since 1981.

However, over the decades of growth for online connectivity, gaming too has had to adapt to delivery of services and products over the internet. True to its potential and its strategic moves, IGT has not lagged behind in the move towards a more global and online audience.

The move has been through its DoubleDown Interactive division. Where IGT dominated the slot-world in the past decades, it has now grown to dominate the online slot world as well.

In fact, it has taken the next step forward by developing games for massive online users on Facebook and has been great competition for Zynga, known for its poker game prowess for the online community.

Where Casino games have been IGT genre for the older generations, the current online version of games are innovative and cutting-edge. In more senses than one, it was IGTs venture into tracking the computerized playing that eventually provided the company an avenue to enter the online gaming world. The usual route for IGT has been to build a hugely popular rewards program that will allow user loyalty and increase in the number of users.

In August last, IGT offered its shared holders (on record until Sept 19, 2013) quarterly dividend of $.10 and forward yield of 2.13%. The company also became part of the successful Delware gaming companies which now allow online real-money gambling. In September however, IGT saw a down trade movement when Deutsche downgraded the stock. However, analysts in the gaming industry believe that there is a considerable limitation in the expansion possible for the gaming industry. Therefore, the possibility of increase in EPS for the next quarter shall be limited.
