Intellicheck Mobilisa, Inc. (NYSEMKT:IDN) Obtains Patent For Fake ID Detection

Boston, MA 05/26/2014 (wallstreetpr) – Intellicheck Mobilisa, Inc. (NYSEMKT:IDN) is a company providing wireless security solution systems for various applications and security systems for the government, military and commercial use. Intellicheck Mobilisa, Inc. has recently announced that the company has obtained a US patent for a system to track down the fake ID cards.

The New System

The new system will help the users to compare data on two or more types of ID cards. A document reader identifying various data fields is included in the system. The data fields from driving license, passport and credit card that are scanned. After the information is obtained from the first ID card is then searched on the second ID card for similar fields from benefit card, government-issued ID or bank card.

There is a field by field comparison of data on both the cards. The system then generates a match/no match result or an overall score using intelligent matching algorithms. The algorithm is based on the closeness to match and importance of field. The reader mainly reads the bearer’s first, last and middle name along with other key fields like date of birth, social security number, driving license number, address, state and date of issuance of the document.

Need For The System

There was a serious need of this system as retailers were facing fines or loss of their tobacco and liquor licenses due to fake IDs. Some have to face civil and criminal liability. The fake IDs are easily available.

The person’s identity was identified using two or more IDs using visual examination. There might be an error with the visual examination of the documents as it may seem to suggest identical data which is not identical. The system eliminates the chances of errors in comparing two or more ID to confirm the bearer’s identity.

Intellicheck Mobilisa, Inc. (NYSEMKT:IDN) has so far 18 US or foreign patent. The Company’s intellectual property will be strengthened by this 19th patent.
