Boston, MA 06/10/2014 (wallstreetpr) – Designer and manufacturer of integrated digital technology platforms, Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC) and Xi3 Corporation have struck a multi-phase deal for the development and manufacturing of next generation PCs, i.e. Micro-Mini computers. While the desktop PCs are witnessing a downside trend over the last few years, it will be quite interesting as to how the market will react to the Micro-Mini computers.
Micro-Mini PCs
While Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC) has not disclosed any agreement, Xi3 Corporation said that the next generation PCs included Intel’s Next Unit of Computing or NUC, which is a successful one. The company indicated that it will closely work with Intel initially to further commercialize the leading chip maker’s NUC-based systems to government customers, as well as global enterprises.
One of the moving sectors of the PC market is Micro-Mini PCs, since corporate wants to boost performance besides offering great power efficiency and ultra-small form of computers. Xi3 Corporation and Intel will work jointly on fresh ultra small form factor devices combining Intel’s technology on low power processor and Xi3 Corporation’s Intellectual Property. Both the companies are working for low power x86 microprocessors.
Intel is left with little to probe other areas for growth opportunities. They are yet to see meaningful profit from its Mobile and Communications segment that suffered losses in the recent quarter. However, the company indicated its commitment in the segment since the future is going to be internet-based, and Mobile and smart devices will play a key role.

Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC)’s general manager for channel innovation and solutions segment Joel Christensen said that the agreement will allow them to offer products of Intel-based to governments and enterprises throughout the globe. He has expressed his confidence on Xi3 Corporations, which has contributed to the ultra-small form factor computing in the world through its Xi3 Computer Architecture.
Both the company’s preferred not to disclose further details about the agreement. Xi3 Corporation has awarded for developing Xi3 Modular computers, which is a softball size with energy efficiency.
