Boston, MA 02/06/2014 (wallstreetpr) – The good old days of secrecy seem to have come and gone with the invention of smartphones which have continuously eaten on privacy that many continue to yearn and search for, with failure. Just when you think you are on top of your world in being secretive you get hit by the bombshell that the government might know what you have been up to in the internet. Advertising has turned out to be one of the biggest business ventures for many companies who will continuously bombard your screen with things you even don’t know exist all in the name of acquiring more sales and subscribers.
Both Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL) and Android have even made it worse for targeted ads by introducing new ways in which targeted ads can be delivered by advertising companies. This should not scare you as they have also provided avenues to opt out which have for some time remained secretive to the general public knowledge.
Ad tracking is not the best move even if it is carried for the shortest time. The bad thing about it is that it can at times be used to paint a picture about somebody depending on what they do on the internet from time to time, which is not what any internet user would wish to hear about.
Below are some of the ways you can block the ads and view whatever you wish on your screen without having to watch any unnecessary ads
Blocking ads on Apple’s iPhone
If you are an Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s iPhone user all you need is to is, go to the settings, click on privacy and go at the bottom of the page to Advertising. While there you will see a label saying “Limit as tracking” that you should ensure stays green by clicking on it. When it is green it will always stop the companies from sending you any targeted adverts.
Android users
Android users don’t have the benefit of following the easy steps as in iPhones but will essentially need to go to Google settings app. Once there you will be able to “opt out of interest based ads”. With these feature turned off, you will be safe as ad tracking companies will not be able to track what you browse on your smartphone to send you any of the correlated ads.
