Hot Stocks in the News: Cereplast Inc (OTCMKTS:CERP), Delta Air Lines, Inc. (NYSE:DAL), Groupon Inc (NASDAQ:GRPN)

Boston, MA 02/04/2014 (wallstreetpr) – Cereplast Inc (OTCMKTS:CERP) is fast turning into a radioactive stock. The company is having little good news of late and a look at its capital market performance sends a chill down the spines of investors. A stock fallout has that started several weeks ago has refused to cease. With reports that many more countries are rising to act against plastic bags, the air around CERP can lead to investment suffocation, so to speak. The fast pace by which the stock is shrinking is worrying everyone invested in CERP.  Clearly, Cereplast Inc (OTCMKTS:CERP) does come across as a friend to most investors now that the weeks-long fallout spilled over to Monday’s trading, lending a bad start to the new week whereby it lost 7.14 percent of its market value.

Delta Air Lines, Inc. (NYSE:DAL) is quickly getting into analysts’ good rating books. The stock recently received a price target hike whereby JPMorgan Chase & Co. (NYSE:JPM) planted $40 on the stock, up from $35 in the previous note to investors. The rating agency now holds an overweight rating on the stock. That DAL is starting to get positive views from analysts is not surprising. Delta Air Lines, Inc. (NYSE:DAL) has over the past years worked to improve its fundamentals which can be seen in deals with strategic partners to expand increase its flights, adding oil operations to its portfolio and giving facelift to its various facilities. All these have the effect of attractive more customers and reducing operating expenses.

Groupon Inc (NASDAQ:GRPN), the company that has perfected the art of selling deals, is now left with a big deal itself. The company’s ringleader who is in charge of the mostly comic emails sent to subscribers has left the company. Daniel Kibblesmith is leaving GRPN just when the company has started turning a corner in its deals selling business. The company recently shifted from its traditional practice of sending out daily deals to now attracting customers to its personalized website for a more extended range of deals. Groupon Inc (NASDAQ:GRPN) has seen ups and downs over the past years and analysts are now convinced that a time to start turning real profit has come.
