Hollysys Automation Technologies Ltd (NASDAQ:HOLI) Takes Up DCS Reconstruction Project In China

Boston, MA 09/30/2014 (wallstreetpr) – Hollysys Automation Technologies Ltd (NASDAQ:HOLI) has undertaken a deal to offer its Distributed Control System for powering Liaoning Suizhong Power Plant for its DCs restructuring.

About The Project

According to a PR Newswire article,  Hollysys Automation Technologies Ltd (NASDAQ:HOLI)’s contract demands it to provide its proprietary DCS, which are used to leverage continuous or batch-oriented manufacturing procedures, for 2×800 MW power generating modules in the reconstruction of the Power Plant.

The Liaoning Suizhong Power Plant had initiated its operations in 2000, as the biggest thermal power plant of Asia. It supported a foreign player’s control technology even at the time. The project has intricate controlling features and has 36,000 controlling points. The project ranks among the most difficult DCS reconstruction endeavors in the Chinese coal fire power industry.

About DCS

DCS is related to actuators and sensors and deploy set-point control to leverage the flow of material through the plant. Mostly, it uses optimized design processors as controllers while using both proprietary interconnections and regular communications rules for communication. DCS’ component forms are comprised of input and output units. It is mostly designed with superfluous processors to improve the reliability of the control system. Usually, the systems feature a display unit and come with configuration software that assists the user in focusing on the application.

Significant Achievement

In an effort to beat long established multinational competitors, Hollysys Automation Technologies Ltd (NASDAQ:HOLI) acted quickly in forming a solution plan to reconstruct the Power Plant. The proposed DCs reconstruction plan was well appreciated and gained immediate approval as the company’s performance impressed them. Hollysys was awarded the contract on the basis of its solution capabilities, industry expertise and advanced technology. Another contributing factor that led the company to win the contract was its continuous efforts and great teamwork. The deal is an important achievement for the company as it offers a contract in DCS reconstruction unit in the GW level power plant.
