Hewlett-Packard Company (NYSE:HPQ) – Move In A Right Direction For Steady Path

Boston, MA 10/18/2013 (wallstreetpr) – Hewlett-Packard Company (NYSE:HPQ), is a provider of various technological services to various consumers across the globe. Their primary source of revenue comes from PC sales.

Streets were turning pessimist on fortune of the company, as their market segment of Personal computer sales were not performing as per benchmark. The company has been witnessing a decline in total volume and the revenue contribution for the last two consecutive years.

In order to sustain the market and make other players feels the presence and intense competition, management have shifted their focus from Personal Computer business to the technology market. Management hope, change in the focus would help the company to sustain the competition in the market and negate the impact of declining revenue in Personal Computer segment.

Since 2010, the company return was below the industry level which resulted into lost of its place in Dow Jones Industrial Average. However, with the change in focus, management indicated that fall in the revenue will come in steady path in each of the coming year.

Despite, declining revenue and shrinkage in the operating margin, the company had given the guidance that free cash flow for the current year is expected to reach $48 billion. In order to boost investor sentiments, HPQ expects to disburse nearly 50% of the company’s free cash flow as dividend and buybacks to the shareholder by the end of 2014.

Company is now developing new and innovative products and services for the market, and anticipates the revenue acceleration from 2015 onwards. The company has announced a strategy for next five years and expects that by the end of fifth year they will be in steady position. It is these sentiments from HPQ that have brought back the confidence among investors and made analysts on the street to change their view on HPQ.
