Boston, MA 04/08/2014 (wallstreetpr) – Hewlett-Packard Company (NYSE:HPQ) announced the launch of two new HP DreamColor displays. The company has gone on to achieve new levels of affordability and color accuracy, with these launches, and has further disrupted the color critical display market.
The products
The new launched products, HP Z27x and Z24x are meant as displays for personal computers and also for Macs. These displays feature the company’s second generation Dream Color engine and provide around 1.7 billion screen colors. The color errors of these displays are also very small and hence, cannot be noticed by the human eye.
Compare them to the older generation, and they have 60% more pixels and up to 4000% increase in the color palette. They are also about 57% thinner when compared to the existing models.
Improvements over the earlier displays
The Z24x provides color accuracy at less than 25% of the price of the original Dream Color that hit markets. The Z27x breaks technological barriers with its launch, with the following:
- Color accuracy has improved three times over the previous generation.
- Color critical display with HP’s host less integrated calibration engine.
- Ethernet based remote management combined with an integrated web server, which provides great control of the display.
- A software development kit allows consumers to integrate the display into their color workflows.
Both these displays are designed for thorough professionals who require great accuracy levels in color management and also for those consumers who want to use the latest innovative products of technology.
Vice president and general manager of Hewlett-Packard Company (NYSE:HPQ)’s PC displays and accessories, Juan Kim said that the Dream Color engine and its line of products had become gold standards for people who demand color accuracy. He also stated that these products would provide richer and more accurate colors than ever before.
The first HP Dream Color display LP2480zx, which was a result of collaboration with DreamWorks Animation SKG Inc. (NASDAQ:DWA) and other studios, addressed the increasing need for displays and accuracy in many fields of work like animation, film/video post, graphics, photography, etc.
The HP Dream Color is available at $1499 for the Z27x and $599 for the Z24x.
