Boston, MA 08/21/2014 (wallstreetpr) – The National Security Agency (NSA) granted the Type-1 certification to Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS) for its Falcon III RF-340M multi-channel manpack radio. The certification provides top level security assurance to Harris’ radio services to secure voice and data communication.

RF-340M multi-channel manpack is the first of all kinds that received the certification along with the U.S. Army’s tactical radio program Handheld, Manpack and Small-Form Factor (HMS).
Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS) designs and develops the multi-channel manpack to address the requirement of HMS tactical radio program that will increase the networking capabilities of all branches of the Department of Defense (DoD).

RF-340M multi-channel manpack offer extended battery services compared to the typical record radio. The portable size and light weight help the customers as per their convenience.
It designs in such a way that it will deliver the MUOS satellite communications service without any additional hardware modules. It will also help in providing services when power plays significant challenges in both mounted and dismounted applications.
In addition, it allows users to operate in multiple networks, and the expansion can address the emerging requirement. It also has the capabilities to address complexity in satellite communications, surveillance and investigation and high-speed wideband networking in all conditions.
Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS) received the first order from the U.S. Navy and will deliver the RF-340M multi-channel manpack in fall.
