What?
Boston, MA 04/10/2014 (wallstreetpr) – The latest news from Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) state that they are going to change the outlook of the side bar advertisements to be larger in size. This is due to the recent updates of Facebook which made the graphics and texts to be bigger than they used to be; hence the productivity of the advertisements seemed to go lower since they tend to escape the eyes of the users due to being proportionally small. However, to balance out the clutter in newsfeed, there will be fewer ads for the users to see at one glance, making it friendlier to the eyes and the overall Facebook browsing experience.
So what?
The announcement was made in the official news page of Facebook Inc. (NASDAQ:FB) stating that the newest changes will make the side bar ads more visually consistent with the “Newsfeed ads” of Facebook which were also a result of a recent update. The announcement also included a screenshot which compared the sizes of old and new advertisement layout. This is supposedly executed in order to acquire better engagement from the users for the advertisements. Social Media marketing has currently become one of the most practiced marketing methods all around the globe, thus, this move is likely to gain more companies — small and large alike — to invest more in Facebook marketing since it is likely to reach crowds even more than the average television related marketing.
Now what?
Although this update will make changes in the computer layout, the mobile apps will remain the same according to the sources. They will be having a trial run with a selected number of users at first and will gradually make it available for all the users by the end of this year. There has been a negative reception for most of the Facebook updates in the first few days, therefore, Facebook Inc. (NASDAQ:FB) is taking a long period of time to ease this change into the users considering their responses and making necessary changes on the way.
