Recalling Cadillac SRX Due To Technological Issues
General Motors Company (NYSE:GM) have recently announced the recalling of thousands of model of Cadillac SRX that was launched in 2013. The step has been taken up due to identification of acceleration issues that have potential to increases the chances of crush. The acceleration issue is related to controlling of transmission that s controlled by a computer program.
The NHTSA (National highway Traffic Safety Administration) confirmed that there can be an almost 4 second delay in acceleration owing to faulty transmission control programming. GM has asked the customers to bring back their models for reprogramming of the transmission control module to effectively combat with the menace.
GM At The Mercy Of Bankruptcy Judge
General Motors Company (NYSE:GM) were shielded by Robert Gerber, New York bankruptcy judge five years ago. Accordingly the judge established the protection of GM from the liabilities of the action of its predecessor. However, recently thousands of users of New GM are instituting suits against the company. Eh users have initiated a war against the company pertaining to an ignition defect. The plethora of suits has created widespread stir in the market.
The stakeholders are looking forwards towards the issue of undoing of the substantial part of the sale order passed by the judge in 2009 related to a bankruptcy sale. The issue has become controversial as it is alleged that the employees were aware of the ignition defect, but the NEW GM is asking for awarding a clean chit for being a bonafide mistake on their part.
