Boston, MA 10/18/2013 (wallstreetpr) – Headquartered in Fairfield, CT, General Electric Company (NYSE:GE) is a multinational corporation engaged in numerous important sectors such as technology, energy, consumer electronics, medical instruments etc. The company has contributed significantly in these fields and has made many impossible things possible. Very recently, the company has developed something called the “Industrial Internet” that has the ability to support huge streams of data to automate important industrial machineries in the manufacturing settings. However, the list does not end here. It has been seen that the company has filed several patents at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) seeking approval.
Of all the important patents, one of the most noticeable is a trio of patents that says about a more efficient and accurate system of paying medical bills through improved predictive models, billing software and a pulse oximeter for fingers. Other patents include a smart home energy usage system, natural gas stream to determine the level of humidity, image assisted surgery, electromagnetic tracking system and the list goes on.
Image assisted surgery is going to be a very important invention in the medical history. It will give a crystal clear view of all the tissues and the organs that are being operated with the medical tools to the surgeons. During the surgery, the video feeds can be captured live and played on a monitor so that the surgeon gets the exact location and work done by the surgical tools. This new discovery can greatly reduce the medical errors common during surgery and can allow surgeons to make complex surgeries.
Electromagnetic tracking system is yet another important system that can be used by the motion and aviation tracking industries to augment the ability to determine the configuration and exact location of the devices that can be detected electromagnetically. However, there is a small hiccup in this system as it must be calibrated to detect one instrument at a time which can be a lengthy process.
