Friday Investment Diary: ARMOUR Residential REIT, Inc. (NYSE:ARR), Oracle Corporation (NYSE:ORCL), Groupon Inc (NASDAQ:GRPN)

Boston, MA 03/21/2014 (wallstreetpr) – ARMOUR Residential REIT, Inc. (NYSE:ARR) had its view trimmed at TheStreet where the analysts cited various weaknesses in the stock. TheStreet lowered its recommendation to a “sell” from the previous “hold” rating. The analysts cited weakening net income, poor return on equity, disappointing stock price and weak cash flow position. TheStreet observed that these weaknesses stood as the monkey on the back of the company as they could potential hurt solid gains. However, shares of ARMOUR Residential REIT, Inc. (NYSE:ARR) seem to be undeterred by the bearish recommendations and are currently trading up in the pre-market session. Perhaps this explains the growing confidence among investors in the real estate industry which is currently ranked among the top potential best performing sectors.

Oracle Corporation (NYSE:ORCL) is in transformation phase. Thus, the company is rightly missing on several estimates because running transformation and growth at the same time can be overwhelming and one can overrun the other. However, one of the best assets that are called for when considering investment in this stock is patience – a lot of it. This is to say that the present troubles in the stock could simply be trying the patience of investors as the company has its best days coming ahead. Groupon Inc (NASDAQ:GRPN) could be turning radioactive if recent events on the stock are considered from a technical perspective. The stock has assumed an unfavorable trend in its moving averages. Recently its 5—day moving average crossed below the 200-day simple moving average, thus suggesting increasing bearishness in the stock’s short-term view. The stock is down more than 18 percent in the past 30-days. Groupon Inc (NASDAQ:GRPN) provides online deals but is business is increasingly coming under attack from new entrants like LiveDeals Inc which provide real-time restaurant deals.
