Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F)’s impressive quarter

Boston, MA 07/25/2013 (wallstreetpr) – Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F) closed in the previous trading session at $17.37 after heading towards northwards direction by 2.54% ($0.43). With around 3.93 billion outstanding shares, the market capitalization of the company is $68.29 billion.

The number 2 auto maker of United States, Ford Motor Co, boosted its full-year outlook. It posted a second quarter profit that defeated the expectations on the strength of operations that are going on outside North America. The company said that the operating profit this year would be more than the profit that was earned last year which were $8 billion.

In this quarter, the company had great results.

There was a short interview conducted with the Chief Financial Officer of the company, Bob Shanks. The share price of the company has nearly doubled since that same quarter last year and now there are more people who are saying that Ford is a “buy”. The company has shown an impressive progress since that time.

The gross cash of the company increased from $23.7 to $25.7 between the quarter of the previous year and the same quarter of this year. Since Alan Mulally took over the helm of the company, Ford has been working towards improving its balance sheet as this was one of the biggest aims of Alan Mulally. There was more cash flow generated in the first half of 2013 compared to the entire cash flow generation in the year 2012.

In the first half of 2012, Ford sold up to 2.80 million cars while in the first half of this year, the company sold 3.18 million cars. The revenue of the company has also increased from $61 billion to $69 billion in the same period.

All the numbers are very healthy and thus company has a good scope. The company posted a net profit in Asia, South America and North America while European losses became smaller.
