Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F) Edging General Motors In The Automobile Industry

Boston, MA 02/19/2014 (wallstreetpr) – Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F) is turning out to be the game changer in the ones ailing automobile industry despite its fierce rival General Motors Company (NYSE:GM) experiencing a chain challenges in the same market conditions. One of the signals for this is its Ford series brand of pickups that has become America’s bestselling for a record 37 years. To compliment on this record, Ford is doing extremely well when compared to general motors in the European markets which have been harsh to other automobile companies.

The biggest harm that has had a bad precedent on GM is its filling of Bankruptcy amidst the economic turmoil of 2008 which has essentially forced it to receive harsh treatment in the market thereby degrading its image altogether. The nickname “Government motors” is also not doing any good to build on the company’s image.

Ford beats GM on sales

Recent sales clearly indicate Ford is surely controlling the market in terms of increased sales. General Motors Company (NYSE:GM) Silverado and Sierra brands should have gained a good market share as new brands in the market when compared to fords older F-150. This did not happen as the two models ended up recording below par sales in the month of December, 2013 dropping by 16% and 4.6% respectively. The same month on the other hand saw F0-150 increase in sales of 8.4%.

The same trend replicated itself in the month of January where the two trucks slumped in sales by 18.4% and 13.5% respectively with the F-series only slumping by 0.7% attributed to harsh weather conditions. Despite the race for sales being close between the two companies, it is clear Ford has a clear advantage which it intends to build on in the current fiscal year.

Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F) saw inactiveness in Tuesday’s trading session as its shares edged up by 0.98% to close the day at a high of $15.39 a share.
