Boston, MA 09/19/2014 (wallstreetpr) – Fifth Third Bancorp (NASDAQ:FITB) is funding the Dave Ramsey designed “Foundations in Personal Finance” program for the school year 2014-15.
Fulfilling Commitments
The Bank seeks to fund the program in as many as 1,827 high-schools spread across 12 states. The school group includes 69 new schools from western Michigan.
As a Business Wire article points out, this is the fifth consecutive year that the bank has funded the course. Fifth Third Bancorp (NASDAQ:FITB) has been taking up the sponsorship since 2010 and has helped over 500,000 students through the endeavor. The bank expects as many as 133,000 students to participate in the present semester of fall 2014.
In this context, Fifth Third Bancorp’s vice president and Chief Marketing Officer, Maria Veltre, said that the sponsorship aims at fulfilling the bank’s commitment to improving lives in the various communities that the bank serves.
About The Course
“Foundations in Personal Finance” offers an all-inclusive, flexible and turnkey personal funds course and is apt for schools. The curriculum is taught with the help of video tutorials from Dave Ramsey and his experts’ team. The present course features updated course content, aided with learning sites that provide calculators and other tools. The other resources of the course include TestGen® of 504 questions, which is essentially an automated test bank, a completely new print and digital teacher’s guide. Apart from this, the updated version has four new chapters.
The course features more than 100 classroom activities and expertise in student-focused, aptitude-based learning approach. The entire course is divided into 12 chapters, of four broad units, as follows: Income, Taxes and Giving, Financial Planning and Insurance, Credit and Debt, and Saving and Budgeting.
