Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) Launches Messenger Update For Android OS After iOS; Blamed For Frequent WhatsApp Crashes

Boston, MA 04/03/2014 (wallstreetpr) – Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) has announced some new advancements for the website’s Messenger on Android phones.

Facebook’s Founder and Chief  Executive Officer, Mark Zuckerberg, who is tagged the big spender, has come up with new plans for the Facebook Messenger application on Android phones. The updated version 4.0 of the app is to contain a provision enabling users to pin chats on the homescreen of their smartphones and tablets.

iOS Update

After the news of the update of the Messenger on iOS last week, Zuckerberg has launched this new version for Android Operating System as well. The iOS update allowed users to group contacts according to user preferences so as to text multiple contacts all at the same time. The features were quite opposite to another application, Snapchat, and updated new versions allow users to forward messages and share photos with contacts outside of the current conversations also.

The Android version update differs from the iOS version in that it incorporates the feature of drawing a shortcut on the homescreen for groups so that contacts in the list can be messaged with just one click.

WhatApp Disappointments

Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB)’s constant updates adding new features to the company’s applications including the social networking website and its Messenger allow a user to explore the convenience of Facebook. But it also has loopholes disappointing users as the one which was noticed on WhatsApp after Facebook announced acquiring it.

Several users contended Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) for the crashes that were encountered on WhatsApp as soon as it reached 64 billion messages.
