Facebook Inc. (NASDAQ:FB) Chief “WhatsApp Worth More Than $19 billion”

Boston, MA 02/26/2014 (wallstreetpr) – Facebook Inc. (NASDAQ:FB) recent acquisition of WhatsApp has been the subject of mixed reaction in the market especially on matters concerning the net worth of the mobile messaging app. Investors in Facebook had given a thumbs up for the deal, saying WhatsApp was worth the amount although some investors in Wall Street were of the opinion Facebook might have overpaid for the app.

The increasing concerns have prompted Facebook co-founder and Chief Executive Officer to come out fighting and solidify suggestions, WhatsApp might be worth more the $19 billion paid. Mark Zuckerberg on his part maintains that any service with the capacity and ability to connect more than $ 1 billion is inherently valuable.  WhatsApp set to grow

Mark Zuckerberg maintains WhatsApp is  in its cradle stages as it currently commands a  user base of nearly half a billion and should hit 1 billion sooner than later. The CEO is of the opinion there are only a few services that can reach such an amount of user base within the shortest time of inception, he was quoted as saying “I think by itself WhatsApp isworth more than $19 billion. … I could be wrong”.

Zuckerberg plans for WhatsApp

One of the biggest goals that Zuckerberg aims at achieving in the coming days is connecting more than 1 billion people through mobile internet around the world. This preposition can only be achieved with the strengths and capability of WhatsApp that it has been able to demonstrate over its short period of inception.

Facebook Inc. (NASDAQ:FB) is currently partnering with carriers in a bid of ensuring basic internet services is provided to majority of people across the globe. Facebook 55% growth in sales last year could set to be positively impacted with the new acquisition especially in the advertising sector.

Facebook Inc. (NASDAQ:FB) opened the week with a slight dip of 1.31% to close the day at a low of $69.85.
