Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) is one of the prominent companies investing in perfecting face recognition technology. It has achieved another milestone by creating near perfect real images with the help of its neural networks. The images are almost real 40% of the time.
The company has demonstrated its ability to create real images and the witnesses have given their nod that the images are almost real. One could not easily recognize whether the image is fake or real.
Facebook’s AI robot follows humans in creating images. It first sees an image and generates a near perfect image just like humans do. For example, it can create small images of airplanes and ships. It fools the humans that produced images are real.
The AI robot’s neural network first generates an image using random vector and the second one validates it for perfection. Now, the AI robot of Facebook is able to create images with a resolution of 64 x 64 pixels. The company is planning to generate larger images in the years ahead. Facebook is likely to implement this innovative technology in its future products.
Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) is also working on AI to create images. But, its images are creepy. It creates images after watching a real life situation. For instance, if the AI robot sees a cloud and it looks like a bird, then it creates and fine tunes the image till it looks like a bird. It creates weird images after watching real life sceneries.
Google is able to create an abstract art while Facebook produces almost real images just like humans. Both Facebook and Google have already perfected image recognition technology.
According to a researcher, Rob Fergus at Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB), the AI robot can easily identify whether the image is a real camera photo or an abstract art.
Google and Facebook are working on improving neural nets to make it like a real human in recognition and creation. One can expect perfect real images from Facebook AI robot in the near future.
