According to a press release reported in a PRNewswire article, National Cable Communications (NCC) Media has deployed Extreme Networks’ switches to transform its data center into the next generation. NCC Media is one of the country’s biggest media companies, which provides a variety of services such as advertising sales, technology and marketing. The company is jointly owned by America’s biggest cable system operators including Time Warner Inc (NYSE:TWX), Comcast Corporation (NASDAQ:CMCSA) and Cox Communications, Inc.

Extreme Networks, Inc (NASDAQ:EXTR), a leading networking company, collaborated with NCC Media in a restructuring project. The company’s high performance switches served NCC Media’s need of a solution that could provide all of its customers with simple and fast service. NCC’s facility needed high-speed 10/40/100 GB network infrastructure. Extreme Networks, Inc (NASDAQ:EXTR) evaluated several competitive solutions and decided on Extreme Networks’ switches.

The networking company’s Ethernet data center switches were deployed to upgrade NCC’s data center. The products included Extreme Network’s award-winning BlackDiamond® X8 platform. The solutions support the data center’s crash kits and outer offices. It also provides backup solutions to the media company’s primary data center also, along with a backup data center.

Extreme Networks, Inc (NASDAQ:EXTR) used its BlackDiamond X8 data center switch in combination with its high-speed switching support for 10-100 GbE connectivity. The solution is suitable for a variety of applications. They also claim to provide automated configuration along with the provision of easy and defective upkeeping. In addition to this, NCC Media deployed a vast feature, scalable network and service management tool, which is capable of managing the various network elements in the enterprise. A center console has been deployed to allow NCC Media to control all its devices, configuration changes and updates.
