Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ:EA) Launches “Madden NFL 15”

Boston, MA 08/26/2014 (wallstreetpr) – Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ:EA) announced the official release of its captivating football game, called Madden NFL 15, which comes with bigger improvements compared with the earlier versions. The company also said that there is a version of the game for the older game consoles.

The latest Madden version launched for the next-generation consoles, including Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT)’s Xbox One and Sony Corp (ADR) (NYSE:SNE)’s PlayStation 4. The added features in the newly released game include new defensive arsenal, improve play-calling and better tackling mechanics. Madden NFL 15 also claims to have one of the most impressive visuals in available in the gaming franchises.

Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ:EA) also announced the availability of Madden Mobile, which is available for free on Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG)’s Google Play and Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s App Store.

The release of Madden NFL is expected to have a positive impact on Electronic Arts’ revenue and even strong price. The stock is already up almost 64% this year. Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ:EA) sells about 6-7 million copies of “Madden” franchise annually and the new version, Madden NFL 15, is expected to sell even more. The game costs $59.99. The game is already generating lively chatters on the social networks.

The company was able to allow some gamers to enjoy a preview of the new title ahead of the official release. Under the EA Access program, the company allows preview access for $5 a month.

Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ:EA) suffered a decline in the sales of Madden 25, which was released last year. The impact on sales happened because of the transition to the new consoles, Xbox One and PS4, from the older consoles, Xbox 360 and PS3. The company reported earnings of $0.19 a share on revenue of $775 million in the most recent quarter. It exceeded consensus expectations for both earnings and revenue for the quarter. Revenue was up almost 57% in the quarter on a year-over-year basis.
