Boston, MA 09/10/2014 (wallstreetpr) – Online auctioneer eBay Inc (NASDAQ:EBAY) subsidiary, eBay Enterprise, disclosed that it has successfully deployed its cloud-based software across the multi-channel specialty retailer, Destination XL Group Inc (NASDAQ:DXLG) and Rochester clothing stores.
Software Implementation
The online auctioneer subsidiary said that Destination has implemented its ship-from store software in over 100 stores. This would provide more alternatives to the varied customer base of the Destination XL Group Inc (NASDAQ:DXLG), a statement from the company said. Interestingly, the specialty retailer has been eBay enterprise’s Dropship Manager client from 2012. As a result, the two solutions would offer Destination Group over 200 omnichannel fulfillment locations, which would help to expand the availability of products to its customers.
The software has been deployed in Destination Group in three months time to over 100 stores. The solutions would be added to more stores every month. The specialty retailer said that the solution captured demand, which would have other been lost, resulting in the reduction of backorder apart from out-of-stock situations in the distribution center. Besides, the store inventory integration with the online channel allows the items to be sold quickly resulting in fewer markdowns.
Customers Can See What They Need
Destination XL Group Inc (NASDAQ:DXLG) said that the solution was about delighting the customer since they can pick up what they want from the available stock for immediate purchase. There is no room for the customers to choose from any catalogue that would not be available at the distribution center. The company believes that the Ship-from Store enable them to develop and provide the best customer experience apart from offering the most economical and fastest shipping.

eBay Inc (NASDAQ:EBAY) Vice President for Client Success, Tobias Hartmann, said that Destination Group provided a good sample of the favorable omnichannel strategies direct impact on its customer satisfaction, as well as, loyalty. He said that the solutions have focused towards fueling incremental revenue apart from creating a flawless customer experience. The solutions would also optimize inventory level, which was a single highest overhead expense for a retailer.
