Boston, MA 09/25/2014 (wallstreetpr) – Delta Air Lines, Inc. (NYSE:DAL) is living up to it’s social responsibility after announcing a partnership with Habitat for Humanity New York City for the construction of two single family homes in Queens Village. More than 120 employees will participate in the project as Delta Airlines reiterates commitment to touch the lives of people through better housing.
Delta Airlines Reiterates Commitment
The two-month long project will see the giant airline renovating two vacant homes thought to have been built in 1935 that have been neglected for quite some time. Habitat for Humanity has already laid a down a roadmap to rehabilitate up to three dozen houses in the coming years as one of the ways of impacting the lives of people in the Queens area.
Since the partnership begun seven years ago, Delta Air Lines, Inc. (NYSE:DAL) has remodeled up to 80 homes and is set to add to the numbers in the coming years as it reiterates it’s commitment for the project. The efforts are expected to ensure that low-income families in Queens’s area get to live in safe and affordable houses. Delta Air Lines, Inc. (NYSE:DAL) has a long standing history for the month of September; where it has always encouraged employees to participate in social projects aimed at impacting the lives of communities as well as passengers that they serve.
DAL 200th Project
More than 2,300 employees are expected to participate in construction projects in Atlanta, Detroit Los Angeles and New York City. The airline is this year celebrating it‘s 200th build, in partnership with the Habitat for Humanity and has promised to donate proceeds from its in-flight recycling program to go for a build in Seattle.
The large network that Delta Air Lines, Inc. (NYSE:DAL) runs has enabled it build and rehabilitate 199 habitat homes in a number of countries across the globe.
