Delta Air Lines, Inc. (NYSE:DAL): Flying High In The Skies

Boston, MA 04/22/2014 (wallstreetpr) – Delta Air Lines, Inc. (NYSE:DAL) operates flight services for cargo and passengers throughout the United States and across the world.

Alliances and partnerships

The company has acquired a 49% stake in Richard Branson’s Virgin Atlantic Airways Ltd. Post the acquisition of the stake that signals the next step towards a full fledged joint venture between these two air carriers; the two companies have reached a codeshare agreement across 108 air routes. The agreement would offer seamless connections to flyers to 66 destinations across United Kingdom and North America. Delta will place its code on seventeen routes of Virgin Atlantic linking London to Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Manchester. Virgin Atlantic, in line with the agreement, will place its code on 91 routes of Delta Airlines.

 Gol Linhas Aereas Inteligentes SA (Gol) has entered into a codeshare contract with Delta Air Lines Inc.  The agreement would mean flights operated by Delta between Sao Paulo and New York and Detroit would be made available through Gol’s multiple sales channels including website, call centers,  travel agencies and  Voe GOL stores.

Delta Air Lines, Inc. (NYSE:DAL) has entered into a partnership with Structural Monitoring Systems plc. This partnership will entail Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) personnel working together with personnel from Anodyne Electronics Manufacturing Corp (AEM), Delta and the Airworthiness Assurance Center of FAA. Accordingly, information and data collected from a commercially operated aircraft will be able to convince regulatory bodies like the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to approve routine use of the technology for installing in commercial aircrafts.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc and Delta Air Lines Inc have entered into a strategic partnership that provides exclusive benefits and perks to Delta SkyMiles Medallion members as well as Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) elite members. The new program provides reciprocal benefits to elite members of both loyalty programs.

 Delta Air Lines, Inc. (NYSE:DAL) has ordered for a fleet of new carriers from Airbus worth nearly $6 billion. The order includes thirty A321 narrowbody planes to be used for domestic flying as well as 10 A330-300 widebody aircraft for international routes. Deliveries are expected between 2015 and 2017.
