CSX Corporation (NYSE:CSX) Recognized By DiversityInc For Hiring Veterans

CSX Corporation (NYSE:CSX) has been honored by DiversityInc for hiring veterans. It is the third year in a row when the company is recognized for its commitment in hiring the employees with military experience. The company earned the four spot on annual list as prepared by DiversityInc.

The management speaks    

Michael J. Ward, the Chief Executive of CSX, said that the company prides itself on implementing an inclusive culture that welcomes the precious experiences of the people who have served the nation. It is a matter of pride to hire veterans as they bring vital skills to the company’s workforce.

The trend

They promote teamwork within the company; possess excellent leadership skills and focuses on safety. As per the record, one in every five CSX employees has been a veteran and 27% of the employees recruited last year have served in the military forces. The company focuses on veterans’ recruitment as well as retention.

The recognition

In addition to DiversityInc’s recognition, G.I. Jobs has also included CSX in the list of top fifty military friendly employers. In fact it is the seventh year in a row when G.I. included CSX in the list. These groups honor companies who have expressed their commitment towards diverse hiring and business practices. The top ten list of DiversityInc includes companies who have provided support to veterans and their families. They contribute significantly to organizations that make efforts to support veterans.

Enhancing facilities

In unrelated news, CSX Corporation (NYSE:CSX) stated that over 80 volunteers from the company gathered at Burrville Elementary School to improve school facilities. The event was organized to highlight how the company wants to create a better future by working on four parameters and they are health and wellness, environment, community and safety. On the same day, the company also provided financial help to the Alliance for Community Trees.
