Boston, MA 02/04/2014 (wallstreetpr) – Zynga Inc (NASDAQ:ZNGA) has over the past few quarters been engaging in strategies aimed at placing it at a strategic position that will see it perform exemplary well in the markets in the coming years. This has mostly revolved around it engaging in cost reduction plans that has seen it slice up to 15% of its workforce in the effort of reducing its wage bill. The company’s net loss for its fourth quarter was slightly less than expected with its shares climbing high amidst revelation it was finishing on a deal to acquire a gaming guru company NaturalMotion. The acquisition of NaturalMotion will reportedly cost ZYNGA a total of $527 million making it, its biggest acquisition till date.
ZYNGA Q4 result analysis
Zynga Inc (NASDAQ:ZNGA) revenue for the fourth quarter of F2013 dropped to $176.4 million representing a loss of $0.03 per share. This was an improvement considering analysts had predicted net loss of $186 million. This slight improvement was primarily due to increased booking across most of its gaming franchises. The company has provided a guidance for its first quarter revenue that will be in the margins of $155-$165 million, this will essentially represent profits in the margins $0.01-$0.03 per share.
ZYNGA proposed future
The acquisition of NaturalMotion is seen as one of the best strategies that will help Zynga regain its fortunes in the market especially in the gaming industry. The acquisition Of Natural Motion is expected to give Zynga the much needed footing in the mobile gaming space with the company gaining exclusive rights to NaturalMotion game engine Euphoria. Part of the deal involves the paying of $391 in upfront cash and the allocation of 11 million shares to NaturalMotion shareholders who will be joining Zynga Inc (NASDAQ:ZNGA). There’s is a feeling from Zynga management that 2014 will be their year if they play their cards in the implementation of profitable strategies
