Consensus: Hewlett-Packard Company (NYSE:HPQ) Now “Hold” At $22.75 PT

Boston, MA 10/09/2013 (wallstreetpr) – Following recent views from at least 28 equities analysts on the shares of Hewlett-Packard Company (NYSE:HPQ), the stock stands at a consensus “hold” with $22.75 in price target.

The 28 analysts are however divided on individual opinions on the stock. As such, six of the analysts think the stock is a “sell”, 15 have rated it “hold” and six others have assigned it a “buy” rating. Then one has a “strong buy” rating on the stock.

In recent times, HPQ has been a research subject for a number of rating agencies. The latest agency to rate the stock is JPMorgan Chase & Co. which in a research note to investors published Monday issued a “neutral” rating. This is however a reitareation of Chase’s prior comment on the stock.

Other sentiments on HPQ have been issued by Well Fargo & Co. in its rating report issued Monday. Wells Fargo has maintained its “outperform” view on the stock.

Barclays Capital was the first agency to rate the stock in the new month of October with an “equal weight” standing. The firm also issued a reduced price target on the stock of $24 down from the prior estimate of $26.

At the close of the month of September, TheStreet issued a report to investors marinating its “hold” rating on the stock.

In the last earnings results, HPQ realized $27.20 billion in revenue against the consensus $27.29 billion. HPQ’s last quarterly revenue was 8.2% below what it earned in the prior year during the same period.

As for the earnings per share, HPQ noted $0.86, matching the $0.86 Thomson Reuters consensus. In the prior year, the company posted $1 for the same period.

Currently, HPQ has a market value of $40.01 billion and a year’s range of $27.78 high and $11.35 low. With business networks spanning governments, enterprises, health and education sectors, HPQ is poised for better show once the company nails its present challenges.
