It has offered its service to Wasatch Front. The internet customers of Xfinity will now be able to access the Xfinity Wi-Fi service at no additional rates.
Comcast reported that it has already set 900 Xfinity Wi-Fi hot spots in some of the top cities like Salt Lake City, Provo and even Ogden. The hotspot now covers places and neighborhood of prime importance. The number of access points that are now offered to customers stand at 300, 000. Those who want to access the Wi-Fi hot spot easily so that they can have access to fast high speed internet can also download Xfinity apps. The apps are available on Apple’s iOS platform and also on Google’s android market as well.
Not only this, Comcast will also be supplying cable modems to its subscribers and the modems are powered with the facility of routers that help in accessing Wi-Fi. The routers for Wi-Fi connection have the option of supporting two signal strengths. The main aim of having two signals is to use one of them for domestic purposes. The second signal that is provided primarily aids in sharing data publicly.
After the cable modems with Wi-Fi router facility is turned on, the subscribers can use their own username and password that has been provided y Comcast to connect to the hotspot offered in the neighborhood and access high speed internet easily.
It is being speculated that such top notch high quality services by Comcast is not only going to improve the number of subscribers that the company has, but at the same time, it will also come in handy in improving the type of standing that Comcast enjoys. Comcast aims at becoming the leading wireless operator in the country.
