Comcast Corporation (NASDAQ: CMCSA) Signs Agreement With Walt Disney Company (NYSE:DIS) to Distribute ESPN+ and Disney+

Comcast Corporation (NASDAQ:CMCSA) has entered an agreement with The Walt Disney Company (NYSE:DIS) that includes distribution rights for Disney+ and ESPN+ services by Comcast on the Flex and Xfinity X1 platforms.

Comcast’s Xfinity X1 and Flex customers to enjoy ESPN+ and Disney+ services

Rebecca Heap, SVP Comcast Cable, Video and Entertainment, said that following the agreement with Walt Disney they will now have ESPn+ and Disney+ on X1 and Flex platforms. As a result, customers will now easily access a variety of shows and sports from Disney. She added that whether it is streamed through an app, live, or on-demand the company’s strength is unifying content and they are delighted to add ESPN+ and Disney + to the platforms accessible with the Xfinity voice remote.

Most importantly ESPN+ and Disney+ will be available on the Flex and X1 platforms in Q1 2021. According to the agreement, current ESPN+ and Disney+ subscribers will log in through the Flex and X1 platforms with new customers having a range of ways theta they can sign up in the future including via Xfinity.

Disney making access to Disney+ and ESPN+ seamless

Disney+ and ESPN+ President, Michael Paull said that they are creating a seamless experience for customers making it easy for customers to access ESPN+ and Disney+ when they enjoy their entertainment. Michael added that they are delighted about the expected launches on Flex and Xfinity X1 platforms. He said that from the first day they set out to avail their streaming services to a larger audience and they are delighted to extend the promise to millions of Xfinity subscribers. The ESPN app also offers access to live streams of the ESPN network that consumers have in their Xfinity package.

Disney+ and ESPN+ join several other streaming services on Flex and X1 platforms. Available services include Hulu, Netflix, Peacock, CBD All Access, Amazon Prime Video, Amazon Music, Spotify, Pandora, YouTube, and HBO Max which is coming soon. Xfinity offers the best entertainment to clients through Flex and X1 devices and its broadband service.
