Boston, MA 06/06/2014 (wallstreetpr) – Cisco Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CSCO) on June 5, 2014 unveiled its new executive-level team for Indian operations. The team includes Dinesh Malkani as the President (Sales) for India and South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Region.
Crucial Executive Level Appointments
While Dinesh Malkani was appointed as the President, Sales for India and SAARC region, Amit Phadnis will serve as the be President (Engineering) as well as India site leader. Dinesh Malkani replaced Jeff White and his direct reporting would now be to Irving Tan, President of Cisco Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CSCO), Asia Pacific and Japan region.
V.C. Gopalratnam was chosen as the President (Strategy, Planning and Operations) for India region. He will also serve as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) for Asia Pacific, Greater China and Japan region.
Strategic Importance of Changes
The executive-level changes in the top management of Cisco depict strategic importance for the company in context with India. The company, at present, extracts around 2% of the approximate $48 billion global revenue from India. It expects that the contribution of India to the company’s growth would increase to 5% by next five years because of increasing demand of networking and cloud services.
